After what was meant to be no more than a summer job at a record distribution company, Maggie Crowe found herself drawn to the music industry. Having worked her way up from a secretary at BPI, the record industry’s trade association, to its Director of Events and Charities, Maggie has been responsible for the UK’s most iconic music events, The BRIT Awards for many years. In 2012 her hard work and passion was recognised as she was awarded an OBE for her contribution to the music industry and charity.

Having accumulated more than 20 years’ experience in senior sales and marketing positions for some of the UK’s leading hotels and properties, no one was better equipped to take on the role of Director of Business Tourism and major Events at London & Partners, the capital’s global marketing organisation, than Tracy Halliwell. Since joining in 2011, she has worked closely with the city’s stakeholders to develop London’s major events and tourism offering—attracting some of the world’s leading brands and events to the city. Tracy was named one of Event 100’s most influential people in the industry in 2013 and 2014 as well as receiving an MBE for services to business tourism in 2014.
Sharon Robinson entered the events industry at just 16 years old, starting her career as a HR Assistant at TNT Showfreight. Twenty-seven years later, Sharon can tell a truly inspirational story of a young woman who started at the bottom and worked her way to the top. After being instrumental in a total company rebrand and working across every department at CEVA Showfreight, a leading provider of logistical services, Sharon was appointed as the company’s Managing Director—a promotion that her team called inevitable as they praise her for her drive, dedication and commitment.
With over 25 years’ experience in the events sector, Lisa Hannant has worked across a range of products and international markets. Since joining leading event organisers, Clarion, in 2008, she has been responsible for driving the strategic development and growth of a number of divisions—successfully positioning a number of its exhibition, conference and publishing portfolios in international markets. In 2013, Lisa became the first female to join Clarion’s management board.

Prior to becoming Operations Director at global events company, Montgomery, Janince Edmunds worked as both an Exhibition Manager and Event Director—giving her a holistic understanding of the events industry and what it takes to be successful within it. Janice uses this insight into the challenges and opportunities facing each department to help shape industry best practice—sitting on a number of boards and advisory committees including the Cross Association H&S Committee, the AEO Operations Working Group and the AEV Sustainability Committee. Passionate about leading our industry to a sustainable future, Janice was instrumental in Fresh Montgomery becoming the first organiser to become registered to ISO20121.
In her 20 years in the industry, Lou Kiwanuka has worked on some of the most coveted events across the globe—establishing a breadth of knowledge during her time spent as a Show Owner, Venue Manager, Operations Manager and Contractor. Lou started EventShaper in 2015, where she is able to use her profile within the industry to provide operational management and support to a wide variety of events. Her experience positions Lou to continue to be at the forefront of the industry, where she can drive progress of meaningful change whilst maintaining fundamental principles.

With a natural keen eye for the written word, Annie Byrne has quickly made a name for herself as one of the key journalists reporting on the events and exhibitions industry. Editor of EN, Mash Media's cornerstone and industry leading title, Annie has been central to the industry initiative EN 30 Under Thirty, that looks to enhance the careers of 30 industry members who are under the age of 30, and has become a key cog in the stewardship of young event professionals.
